Bournemouth and National Trust 2025

National Trust have many properties around us to visit and they are great even if the weather is not good.
Kingston Lacy is my favourite . Just outside of Wimborne, the house was a family home built to resemble an Italian Place in 8,500 acres of estate land!!
The house is beautiful with art covering most walls. It was lived in until the 1980's so although grand it still has the feel of a family home. Nothing has been allowed to be moved or sold, so there is always loads to see, with most rooms open to the public. On a sunny day there is so much land to roam, rose gardens to visit and of course a fabulous picnic area. The stables have been converted into a lovely comfortable cafe with outside eating in the courtyard. From hot food to just a coffee and cake you can sit and enjoy the ambience. The usual shop on site offers unusual gifts, books and local produce.
Brownsea Island, is a treasure just off of Sandbanks and Poole. Reached by foot ferry, you can spend a whole day roaming the island without cars and pollution. Red squirrels thrive here, though difficult to see you may be lucky and be able to watch a few in the tree tops . The island has the most magnificent views back onto the mainland. Small beaches are dotted around and ideal for picnics. Shop, museum , church and cafe are all on the island for you to enjoy. Walks and talks often take place, see the website for full details
Studland Beach, fabulous beach on a glorious coastline on the Purbecks, marvelous views of Old Harry Rocks and the Isle of Wight. Great place for watersports enthusiasts and home to the UK's most popular naturist beach.
Spend a day out on the beach, take a walk around the coastline, swin in the sea, relax on the beach and watch the stream of yachts that come and more up.
All of these places plus many more are located just a short car ride from The Rosscourt.
