Bournemouth's fun things to do

26
April

Whatever the weather, Bournemouth and it's conurbations have great places to visit, things to do, come rain or shine

1. Visit the beautiful beach, stretching 7 miles from Hengistbury Head to Sandbanks. Walk the promenade and see the majestic cliffs, watch the sun sparkle i the water. Stop off at the two piers and saver the smell of the sea and listen to the waves crashing against the sides. Grab a coffee/cake in the various seafront eateries. Stop of in the arcades for a gamble. Grab a deckchair, sunshade and just enjoy what;s around you. Often during the summer months there are many games being played including volleyball.

2. Friedas Tea bus tour. What a great idea, a chance to see around Bournemouth and Poole with someone else driving and you enjoying cream tea served to you. The bus tour takes in all the sights of the area and it is a great way to spend an afternoon

3. Isles of Purbeck. Just spectacular and a bus or car drive away. Beautiful beaches, stunning countryside. Castles, tea rooms and walks. Breezer bus goes from Bournemouth Station and the chain ferry takes to you to Studland to begin your journey. Many great pubs including a micro pub along the way, serving food all day.

4. Hensgistbury Head, our nature reserve, glorious views across to Old Harrys Rocks and Isle of Wight. Birds, bees and other animals, views towards Mudeford beach huts, Christchurch Harbour and the church. Cafe and land train. Foot ferry across to Mudeford, just the perfect day out.

5. Escape Rooms. Weather bad then escape into town and try out the many escape rooms that have recently opened. Fun for 2 -6 people in teams. Beat the clock and solve the issues and escape from the jaws of aliens, great fun

Look up the library of liquor in The Larder House Southbourne and enjoy a meal and drinks at the same time. Another great way to spend a rainy day.

Russell Cotes Museum, one of my favourites, charters the life of the Russell-Cotes family on their travels around the world in the 1800's. Fabulous views across the bay , great artefacts and coffee shop for topping up on energy

6. City Sightseeing . Bournemouth are lucky enough to be part of the worldwide city sightseeing tours. an hour and half hop on hop off 24 hour ticket, allows you to see all the sights and then choose where to spend your day. Audio in various languages pointing out places of historical interest.

7. Gardens. We have an abundance of gardens here in Bournemouth. Lower and upper gardens, including the stream. Italian Gardens in Boscombe, Chine gardens Boscombe, Great places to take a pic nic, or just hang out. Through the summer months the lower gardens host events, and in the winter an ice rink and Winter Wonderland of Christmas trees.

8. Watch the listings for Shelley Manor Theatre, Pavilion Theatre and the Bournemouth International Centre. World renowned artists, comedians, plays, musicals and concerts all through the year. Bournemouth also have their own comedy club

9. 11 golf clubs and a couple of crazy golf for the family. All within a few miles of town centre. Not a golfer then we have surfing, body boarding, tennis, scuba diving, boast trips, hiring bikes on the prom.

10. Visit Poole Quay on a Tuesday night and see thousands of motorbikes just there to show off to you. Sundays in Bournemouth Classic cars along the prom. All for free.

What's your excuse not to come??
